Workshop dedicated to multi-color Riso design and printing
The activity focuses on the use of color profiles specifically created for Risograph printing: participants will learn how to convert images into Multichannel mode, correctly assigning inks (Spot Colors) for optimal color separation. A central phase of the work will be devoted to experimentation with halftones, converting channels into bitmap in order to generate screening patterns with a strong visual impact. To ensure clean print results and prevent the moiré effect, all necessary precautions will be applied, including those commonly used in offset printing. The final outcome will be a collective edition of 30 copies, composed of individually designed plates but produced through a single shared design system.
Atto is a Milan-based visual design studio founded in 2013 by Sara Bianchi and Andrea Zambardi. The studio works across graphic and editorial design, visual identities, and motion, with a strong focus on research, materials, and experimental printing processes such as Risograph. Alongside professional practice, they are actively involved in teaching and workshops at several design schools.
