Painting, Copying and AI

This book follows the order of the layout of the seven rooms of Andrea Ravo Mattoni's exhibition “img2img - Painting, Copying and Artificial Intelligence,” curated by Monica Guadalupi Morotti and Andrea Ceresa, hosted in the rooms of Masnago Castle, home of the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of the City of Varese, from April 6 to August 25, 2024. In the exhibition, each room is dedicated to a theme or pictorial process. Therefore, the publication offers an opportunity to reflect, accompanied contextually by the critical texts of the different authors, on issues concerning painting, art and human creativity in general in the era of the advent of Artificial Intelligence in our society, considering Andrea Ravo Mattoni's work as a starting point.
