A conversation between Silvia Sfligiotti, curator of Antologia di Cultura Grafica by Lazy Dog Press, and Alice Redaelli of CIG Arcigay Milano, explored the intersection of archives, collective memory, and graphic design practices. Together, their dialogue reflected on how visual culture contributes to shaping imaginaries and social representation, emphasizing the role of design in preserving marginalized histories and fostering inclusive narratives.

Silvia Sfligiotti (1967) is a graphic designer and an independent researcher. She teaches at ISIA Urbino, the Polytechnic School of Design in Milan, and the University of the Republic of San Marino. She has curated several publications and exhibitions on visual communication and was co-editor of the magazine Progetto Grafico. Her work focuses particularly on the history and critique of graphic design and on design education from a somatic perspective.

Alice Redaelli is the President of CIG Arcigay Milano, a prominent LGBTQIA+ organization in Milan. Born in 1983, she has a background in photography and digital communication, having studied and worked between Milan and London. Redaelli also serves as a spokesperson for Milano Pride, one of the city’s most significant events celebrating LGBTQIA+ rights and culture. She highlights the inclusive nature of the Pride, welcoming everyone regardless of background, and underscores Milan’s active role in advocating for LGBTQIA+ rights both nationally and internationally.
